4 Stars for Fabric of Fate

Night Owl Reviews has given Fabric of Fate a 4 Star review. Here's a snippet of what reviewer Chris has to say:

"Abrah and Heroc are more synergistic than other brothers in previous books. They truly work together and there will be no hard feelings or difficulty sharing with these two once they get over the initial testosterone poisoning. Abrah is the eldest and most stressed, Heroc is the jokester and lighter of the two. Both men are a perfect foil for Audrey. She connects with both on different levels and together the trio makes sense...A fanciful fictional tale full of faith, love and eroticism mixed with a touch of magic."

Tuesday Teaser

Here's a teaser from A Touch of Magick, one of the four print books up for prizes in my new contest. Check the "Contests" page on my WEBSITE for details.
TEASER:

“Shouldn’t you wait until the police examine the scene?” It was then she noticed the uniform.

Sighing, she wondered if she should have just stayed in bed this morning. “I didn’t call the police.”

“I didn’t think so.” He held out his hand. “Ryland Stone, Deputy Ryland Stone.”

Seeing no way out, she reached out and took his hand. An electrical shock surged through her body, going straight to her breasts and arrowing down between her thighs. She yanked her hand back with a yelp, cradling it against her chest. Her entire body tingled with awareness.

Ryland was shaking his hand too, his pale blue eyes never leaving her face. “Sorry about that. Must be static electricity.”

Of course it was. What the heck had she been thinking? For the briefest of moments, she’d thought the spark had been one born of magick. Instead it was something as mundane as static electricity.

Writer's Wednesday

People are always asking for writing tips and one of the best I can offer them is to simply sit in your chair (whether at your desk or at a coffee shop or the kitchen table, etc...) and write. There is no substitute for actually writing. The more you write, the more you learn and the better you will become at your craft.

Good luck!

Tuesday Teaser

Here's a teaser from Stefan's Salvation, one of the four print books up for prizes in my new contest. Check the "Contests" page on my WEBSITE for details.
TEASER:

The beast inside him rumbled to life. Every heartbeat in the room pounded in his ears. He could hear the swoosh of their blood pumping through their veins. The sensation was hypnotic. He licked his lips, almost tasting the tang in his mouth.

He was hungry and they were sustenance.

Closing his eyes, he willed the beast back into submission. It wasn’t easy. He could feel the sweat trickling down the back of his neck. As the nights seemed to grow longer, it had gotten harder and harder to even have the will to fight his very nature. It would be so easy to take what he wanted with no consequences.

Taking slow, steady breaths, he ignored his throbbing erection and centered himself until he was back in total control. He opened his eyes and carefully scanned the room again. Nothing had changed. No one here knew the battle that had just been fought and won. No one knew that their lives had just been spared.

The beer was cool and the bottle sweaty in his hand as he took a long pull. He welcomed the bitterness of the brew as it slid down his throat to his belly. It did nothing to still the hunger within him.

Spring is Here!

WELCOME TO THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
I hope you're all able to get outside and enjoy today in some small way.

Cocktales Pub Crawl--Mari Carr is Here!

Welcome to the fourth stop in the Cocktales Pub Crawl. I can’t lie. I’m a huge NJ Walters fan, so when I asked if we could crawl over and she said “Sure, stop on by,” I got super excited—in a fan girl kind of way. NJ’s latest release from Samhain, Quinn’s Quest, involves a werewolf. Um…yum. So…today’s drink was selected with just that particular shapeshifter in mind.

For this fourth round, let’s try a Werewolf. Remember to write down that drink title to be entered in the grand prize drawing. Details about the crawl can be found on my website (http://www.maricarr.com/).

1 part Drambuie
1 part Jack Daniels (hell yeah!)

Serve in a lowball glass.

This week’s pub crawl is being held to celebrate the release of Screwdriver next Tuesday, March 20. It’s is available for preorder at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The Cocktales books are about four friends who own a combination bar/bookstore in Portland called Books and Brew (this is my DREAM business). Each woman runs a different aspect of the business—bartender, bookkeeper/office manager, the marketing/events coordinator, and the bookstore gal. Today, I thought I’d share the blurb to Screwdriver with you.

Cocktales, Book Two

When Jordan Lance isn’t pouring over spreadsheets for Books and Brew, she’s
fantasizing about the store’s landlord. Too bad she’s squarely in Gabriel’s
“just friends” column. Jordan’s prepared to pine forever—until she meets Casey. The handyman is hot, handsome, charming…and Gabriel’s best friend. Suddenly her wicked fantasies are porntastic times two.

Casey has suspected his friend’s interest in Jordan. If he can push them together, he might get Gabriel off the bimbo train he’s been riding. The plan? Jealousy. And it’s working. It’s not long before Gabriel’s deeper feelings for Jordan emerge. Problem is…so do Casey’s. What happens when two friends want the same woman? Red-hot ménage, baby.

Two gorgeous men playing every inch of her body? Um, yes please! Jordan doesn’t
know if threesomes are considered acceptable, but she’s sure of one thing—being
this bad feels far too good.

Now how about a little contest? Leave a comment here on NJ’s blog by 6 a.m. (EST
tomorrow, March 16) and one winner will receive a $5 gift card to Amazon or Barnes and Noble (winner’s choice). The question is easy. What’s your favorite
shapeshifter/paranormal creature? Werewolves, vampires, and zombies, oh my!

New Look for Blog

Change is never easy, but I've had this blog since 2006 and very little has changed in that time. I thought it was time for an update. Maybe it was the hint of spring in the air yesterday. Either way, I've completely changed the color and layout of my blog and I have to say I absolutely love it. What do you think?
