Snowy Monday

Woke this morning to a sea of white outside my window. Looks like we had a couple of inches of snow overnight. Yes, I did say snow. lol You'd never say it was spring by looking outside my window. Looks more like February.

I've been sick with the flu for almost two weeks now and haven't done any work on my writing in about ten days. Starting back at it this morning. Doing a rewrite on a book that I'm hoping to be able to submit by the end of the week if all goes well. Wish me luck.

Have a great Monday!

Monday, April 23, 2012

Welcome to Monday!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Mine was spent still struggling with this flu that won't seem to go away. I don't think I've ever been so ill with a flu in my life, but I think I see light at the end of the tunnel.

So, please forgive me for not blogging more this past week. Hopefully, in a few days, things will be back to normal.

Have a great week!

Tuesday Teaser--Tracking Talia

Today's Teaser is from Tracking Talia, a fast-paced, sensual Quickie from Ellora's Cave!

TEASER:

Moving as fast as he could, he stealthily made his way toward a circle of rocks. It was an open area about fifteen feet in diameter that was ringed by high, jagged rocks with only one way in and out.

Back to the rocks, Marshall crept toward the opening. Rifle raised and ready, he listened for any sound. The wind had picked up substantially in the last few minutes making it difficult to hear anything else. Swearing under his breath at his own stupidity, he kept going. He paused as the natural doorway appeared. He could see to the left and it was clear.

Easing his body to the other side, he froze when a person came into view. The rifle was rock steady in his hand, his finger caressing the trigger. Marshall was mildly surprised his hands weren’t shaking. He walked slowly into the circle, his gaze never leaving the other person.

“Aren’t you going to say hello?”

He tilted the barrel of the rifle downward. His heart was pounding. His mouth was dry. Anger, hot and potent, flooded through his veins. Why now? It had been eight long months.

“Hello, Tabby.” He used her nickname intentionally. She usually hated to be called that, but he had whispered it in her ear a hundred times when they made love.

Welcome Kathy Kulig!

I want to welcome author Kathy Kulig to my blog! Be sure to leave a comment as Kathy is giving away an ebook from her backlist. (See full instructions below.)

One Night Stands

You barely know his last name, and he barely knows yours. Maybe you met while traveling on business, through friends, on vacation, at a friend’s wedding or another event, but one thing for sure, the chemistry is there and you want each other BAD! The sex is guaranteed to be hot! Well, maybe, if you communicate well.
The number one reason for having a one night stand? Sex, hot, hot sex!

Chances are you may never see each other after that night, and you understand that, and if you’re smart you’ll accept that reality. There’s a risk of guilt and shame the morning after too. In a small percentage of one night stands, the couple end up in a long term relationship, even marriage, but don’t count on that.

Are there rules or tips for one night stands? Just because the sex is casual, use common sense:

• Don’t have one night sex with a co-worker, a boss, a sibling’s friend, or anyone who’d put you in an awkward situation later.

• Practice safe sex, obviously.

• Don’t discuss personal matters. A data dump of your last break-up/divorce is a big no-no.

• Never let a stranger tie you up, duh.

• Keep the clingy emotions out of it. Remember the number one reason for having a one night stand.

Two adults doing are what they both want, and that isn’t a bad thing as long as you don’t have any expectations the day after.

What are your thoughts on one night stands?

In my new release, SPRING BREAK, release date 4/13 from Ellora’s Cave, http://www.jasminejade.com/p-10007-spring-break.aspx my hero and heroine have a one night stand that actually turns into a ménage. They know what they’re getting into. They’re adults and accept that this may be a onetime fling. See what happens their morning after.

Here’s the Blurb:

Spring break beyond your wildest fantasies? If Justin Watkins can stop keeping watch over his college students like Big Brother, he might convince the prim-and-proper Mariko Maguire to be his sex partner at the invitation-only adult club called TropiX.

Mariko is in Fort Lauderdale on business, trying to secure new clients for her PR firm. Abandoning prior commitments for one wickedly lustful evening—a one-night stand of kinky sex—was not on her agenda.

Carter Bosworth is looking for an evening of sex games during his layover in the tropical playground. He’s a regular at TropiX and always open for a new thrill. His plans are sidetracked, but it may be to his benefit after all when he meets the beautiful Mariko. The potent heat developing between Justin and Mariko tempts her into shedding her inhibitions, and an exploration in eroticism develops beyond her imagination at the fetish club.

Book of the Week--Tiger by Laurann Dohner

What am I reading?

This week's Book of the Week is TIGER by Laurann Dohner. If you haven't read her New Species series yet then you're in for a treat. You can read this as a stand alone book, but I suggest going back and starting at the beginning. You won't be sorry!

BLURB:

Zandy’s had too much to drink and is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She knows she’s going to die. When next her eyes open, a beautiful man-creature is holding her in his arms. He’s just too tempting to resist; her very own fallen angel. She wraps herself around his body, determined to have him. But when this angel turns out to be flesh and blood, reality crashes in—she’s seducing a New Species.

Tiger’s shock quickly turns to intense passion when the human female kisses him, despite the fact she’s trying to get his clothes off while he’s engaged in a task force operation. He’s also made it clear he’ll never take a mate. Rather difficult when he and Zandy can’t keep their hands off each other. The taste and feel of his little human just leaves Tiger wanting more.

Tuesday Teaser!

Here's Tuesday's Teaser--a day late.
This is a teaser from Threads of Destiny, one of the four print books up for prizes in my Slip Into Spring contest. Check the "Contests" page on my WEBSITE for details.

TEASER:

Tienan was the same height as Logan but that’s where the similarity ended. Where Logan’s hair was blond and short, Tienan’s fell to his shoulders in a straight black curtain. His body was leaner but no less muscular. He reminded her of a jaguar she’d seen in an old film—all coiled muscles, just waiting to attack. Both men were handsome. Tienan was good-looking in a classic sense, while Logan possessed more of a craggy, rough look that was impossible to ignore.

They were also her friends and, as of yesterday, her responsibility.

“What’s the word on the jail break?” Logan sat forward, his hands loosely clasped between his legs.

Kathryn strode across the room, trying to appear confident as she dumped her sweater and purse on a chair. Her stomach burned from all the stress of the day and she rubbed her hand across it, trying to settle it. She knew she had the beginnings of an ulcer. The doctor had warned her at her last appointment that she needed to take better care of herself. Easier said than done.

Tienan’s green eyes narrowed and he stalked to the mini-fridge that was tucked into a cabinet in the corner. Opening the door, he pulled out a small container of milk. He unscrewed the top as he strode to her side. “Drink.”

Grateful for the slight reprieve, she took the plastic bottle, brought it to her lips and drank. The cool liquid coated her throat and hit her stomach like a cooling balm. Sighing with relief, she licked her lips. “Thanks.”

One corner of Tienan’s mouth turned up in a slight smile as he reached out and used his thumb to wipe away a bead of milk from the corner of her mouth. Bringing it to his lips, he licked it away. “My pleasure.”

Legacy Found is Now in PRINT!

I'm thrilled to announce that Legacy Found releases today in PRINT from Samhain Publishing.

BLURB:

Shelley is a killer. Never mind that her “crime” freed her from thirty-five years of brutal captivity—the bounty hunters on her trail don’t care. For the first time in her life, she is on her own, free to put the past behind her and explore what it means to be a werewolf.

James Riley is dead tired. After a week untangling legal and financial affairs his brother’s death left behind, he’s feeling every ounce of his new responsibility as Wolf Creek pack alpha. He’s not too tired, though, to notice his sexy waitress is a werewolf—one that strangely doesn’t recognize him as one of her own kind.

After his questions rattle her composure and get her fired, Shelley figures the least James can do is drive her to the next town, but he wants more. He wants to take her home. And despite her fear, something inside her is irresistibly drawn to his commanding yet gentle presence.

James is willing to give Shelley all the time she needs to embrace her heritage, her sexuality, and eventually his love. But her past will not be denied...and her secrets demand a price paid in blood.
